Forecast for the Year of the Snake 2025
Life without it is a boring, beige world and who wants to live there?
The spark of life will return in the coming year and it is a refreshing change.
The Yin Wood Snake is a softer wood energy, but brimming with anticipation, like the little child clenching their fists in excitement over an ice cream cone. It is excitement wrapped up in a cute cashmere sweater.
The Yin Wood brings with it the kind of energy that belongs to the delicate sweet pea vines with their delicate tendrils and green, fragrant grass, as opposed to the giant sequoias and tall trees that the Yang Wood Dragon of 2024 represented.
This Yin Wood energy will help transform the strength and boldness of the Yang Wood (and the anger that comes with it) into an energy that is gentler, more temperate, and more diplomatic.
Ah, and then there’s the small flame that comes with the Snake’s inherent fire energy.
This isn’t like the giant fires that scorch the earth, but the sweet candle in the window on an autumn evening that fills the room with a golden glow and cozy warmth.
The Snake Year brings contentment and pleasure and moderate excitement that bursts with quiet joy.
The Mountain Comes Into View
There’s another energy that this year brings. It is the energy of support, companionship and source.
The mountain is revered by the Chinese as it is connected to both heaven and earth. It is often the home of dragons and a source of support.
The mountain is represented by the number 2, the number associated with the southwest and the woman, matriarch and mother. This is the reigning star of 2025.
Who hasn’t heard of a woman being referred to as the “rock,” a pillar of strength and support? This type of support is available to everyone in the household.
This year, the ruling star is the 2nd star as it flies to the center, a place where it and the other earth stars call home in their respective locations on earth.
Before we look at 2 star energy, let’s talk about the mountain.
The mountain paradox.
The mountain is the beautiful land that rises from the plain and lifts your gaze. It brings the water flowing from its melting snow caps and refreshes you in its sparkling rivers.
The mountain holds wealth and abundance, gems and precious metals. The year will consist of two types of mountains.

THE ILLNESS STAR 2
The 2 is a star that has long been associated with illness and this year it falls in the central sector. In fact, the 2 is the ruling star – the star of women. I expect more women and women’s issues to gain prominence as the year progresses.
Illnesses like E. coli and other food-borne illnesses may become more prevalent in the coming year. Gut health and medications that target the gut, like weight loss drugs Wegovy and Mounjaro, will also be in the spotlight more often. Be mindful of your family’s health this year, as everyone may be more susceptible to problems with respiratory illnesses and diseases.
The pandemic and the rise of new viruses have shown us that our health and risk of infection continues to rise.
There’s been more news about monkeypox lately. There are only three years left until the Year of the Monkey. I wonder if we’ll see a rise in its sister virus, now called Mpox.
As with every year, it’s wise to be cautious and pay close attention to corners where there is potential for infection, but this year takes us up another DEFCON level, so to speak.
In 2025, the infection potential is in the center (2 black), the northeast (5 yellow) and the north (7 red).
